This is a nice ceramic piece. I have it in my garden window in the kitchen. It's convenient to put the veggie scraps in during meal prep and when doing the dishes. There is no smell - the charcoal filter works perfectly. I have only had this for a couple of weeks and am unsure how long the filter will work before it needs replacement but I ordered those too (from an outside site) so I am prepared when it smells. It has a secure heavy wire handle that makes it convenient to carry to my composter in the garden. Only complaint is that it looks like a fire hydrant. I probably should have picked a different color but in my crazy house when someone says what do I do with the veggie scraps I just yell put it in the fire hydrant :) Works well!Customer Review: Attractive and sturdy

My husband and I try to do everything we can for the environment. He is really into composting, solar panels, the whole nine yards. We had an ugly plastic compost container under our kitchen sink that was impossible to keep clean, etc. I saw this one and bought it. It's attractive, goes well with our decor and so easy to clean! Has a sturdy stainless steel handle too, so it's easy to carry to and from your larger compost bin. Only downfall is the first one we bought, my husband dropped and it shattered in pieces. So that's the only downfall of it being ceramic. Otherwise it's great and if he breaks another, I will just buy another!Customer Review: Just what we needed

The ceramic compost crock is just what I was looking for. During the vegetable growing season this summer we accumulated quite a bit of waste. The crock made it so easy to keep and even in the heat the charcoal filter never let any odor escape into our kitchen. It held up to a week's worth of waste before we had to empty it into our compost bin. So glad I purchased it. The red crock looks great in our white kitchen which we accent with red and black appliances and accessories.Customer Review: Kitchen composting

This is a nice addition to my kitchen. It makes it much more convenient to add trimmings etc. to my compost. Prevents my lazy habit of throwing things directly in the trash. One good tip would be to buy the compostable bags to make it even easier!Customer Review: Tidy compost keeper

This Compost keeper is the perfect size for a kitchen counter and keeps the compost absolutely odor free. I liked it so much, I ordered one for a fellow composter.
