This is a wonderful product. High quality and the odor filter is fabulous... I had onions and garlic in mine and asked my husband to guess what was inside and he said he couldn't smell a thing. Perfect for collecting kitchen scraps without having to take them out to the compost pile daily. It's attractive, light weight, a good capacity for weekly collections (you wouldn't want to keep scraps in your kitchen much longer anyway), and well designed. We've been using ours for about a month now, to store up compostable material before we take it to our outside compost bins (we're using a Biostacks for that), and it works great! For those of you, like me, that can't stand any kind of gross odors in the house... fear not... the charcoal filter works very well indeed. Looks wise it also blends in very nicely with our stainless steel kitchen appliances, but I think it would look great with practically any kitchen decor.Customer Review: Still no smell after 1 year

I was looking for replacement filters after realizing that it has been 1 year (of heavy use) and I still haven't needed to replace the filters. Our family of 5 fills this up about 2 times per week but we compost just about anything we can! I have a great ComposTumbler outside that I can easily dump into from my Norpro 94 and turn 3 times. This saves at least 3 trips outside everyday to compost. My veggies this year are going to be outstanding! Worth every penny!Customer Review: Good Item, Does Its Job

I bought this for the kitchen and it functions exactly as it should. The steel does not feel flimsy and the cover fits well, and the charcoal filter in the top seems to work. Its the right size for a couple days in our household so it forces us to empty it regularly instead of letting it sit too long. I have not noticed flies like the one-star reviewer, maybe its something particular to her situation. Best of all, it looks at home in a contemporary kitchen.Customer Review: Love this thing!

I've had my compost keeper for about a year and a half now, it was a Christmas gift from my mom. It is perfect for me! I keep all of our used coffee grounds and fruit & veggie scraps in it and empty it about once a week into my big composter in the yard. It has NEVER smelled, it's very easy to clean and the filters are simple to replace. Even after having all those gross scraps and even coffee grounds in it, it still looks brand new. Thanks, Mom!
