My husband is Celiac and I bake all of his gluten free bread. Over the years we have had many different slicers. This slicer is the best we have ever had-both cheap and expensive. It makes the most uniform slices of any we have had. The thick base stays put on the counter while you are slicing the bread. This is the best invention to use for slicing bread. I have a breadmaker and make all of my bread. Using the Norpro Bread Slicer makes is very easy to slice the bread and with the guides I am able to slice the bread very thin, very thick, and all sizes in between. I make most of my bread using a bread machine to produce the dough and then I shape and bake it in the oven. This bread slicing guide does exactly what I want in a guide. I did not find it flimsy or cheap. You do need a long bread knife, but for my knife it is perfect. I would buy it again. I have been using it for about a month.Customer Review: Good buy for the money

For the money, this product was a good buy. It has held up well, and served the purpose for which we bought it. Works well, no complaints. Probably not super durable, so if you're slicing fresh bread every day you'll likely want something stronger, but for the occasional-to-moderate user it should be satisfactory.Customer Review: Bread Slicer

I am a health nut. I bake my own bread from flour I grind from wheat berries. The hard part is slicing the bread into uniform pieces. The Norpro 370 has solved the problem. If you purchase this item, be sure you have the longest bread knife you can find,as the 370 is quite wide.
