Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Norpro Bread Slicer with Crumb CatcherCustomer Review: bread slicer Summary: 2 StarsThe bread slicer is a good idea, but the plastic started breaking off the first week I got it. The slicer needs to be made of metal. The slicing board is handy & does catch the crumbs good.
Customer Review: bread slicer Summary: 4 StarsI like the Norpro bread slicer. Makes slicing fresh bread very easy and all the slices are the same. The plastic guides although very strong are a little flexible.
Customer Review: Great Product & Shipped on Time Summary: 5 StarsThe product came exactly as it was described. It met all of my expectations. Delivery was in a timely manner and handled with care- good packing. Easy to work with.
Customer Review: Poor design makes product not worth using Summary: 1 StarsWhen the Bread Slicer and Crumb Catcher arrived, I immediately put it together and noticed some problems. The screw holes on the sides of the item were machined poorly, so I couldn't get the screws in tight enough to hold the acrylic slicing guide in place. From that point, the product was pretty much useless. I did like the crumb catcher, and may keep it without the slicing guide, but I really wanted to be able to do both.
The product could be improved 2 ways. The screw holes could be moved up on the sides so that the angle of the acrylic guide isn't so steep. That way, the sides would be stabilized, and three screws per side, instead of two, would also be a big help. It's a good idea, but lacks in its implementation. I give it one star, because I can't use it as is.
Customer Review: Slices bread & the wood bottom Summary: 1 Stars"Our Daily Bread" is what the signage is on the back stop.
It should read, "Our Daily Sawdust".
As you slice bread down to the bottom, you then begin slicing the wood tray that the bread rests on. Results: bread, splinters, and sawdust.
Another crap product for the landfill. How does stuff like this get approved for retail sales?
