Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Norpro Cast Aluminum Tortilla PressCustomer Review: No Press... No Tortilla Summary: 5 Stars
Take it from a tortilla trial and error survivor - get this press.I thought it would be pretty easy to buy some Masa Harina, mix it up and roll out some nice tortillas... WRONG! It's pretty easy to make flour tortillas without a press, but trying to make corn tortillas requires a press - no two ways about it. Save yourself tons of time, frustration and make some fresh corn tortillas - buy this press
Customer Review: just what I wanted. Summary: 5 Stars
This little press is just right. I don't want enormous tortillas (as another reviewer pointed out, you should be aware that it will not make giant burrito-sized tortillas--but who wants corn tortillas that big?)...I just wanted something that is simple and that does the job. This was a good choice and the price is right. It has already paid for itself in the delicious tortillas I have made with it.
Customer Review: Don't put up with rubbery tortillas from the store Summary: 5 Stars
If you have ever had a fresh tortilla made of stone-ground corn, you will never, ever eat a packaged tortilla again. You can also use this to make the round wrappers for potstickers (chinese ravioli) and other chinese dough wrappers like bao (stuffed buns), shu mai dumplings and Peking pancakes for Moo Shoo Pork. Also works for chappatis. A handy device.
Customer Review: love it Summary: 5 Stars
I am making dozens of tortilla per day and they are coming out perfect. The trick is to use thin clear plastic like a produce bag, between the maze ball. They are not sticking at all. DO NOT USE wax paper. Placing the ball off center is a must for keeping them the same thickness.... Higlyh recommend for fresh tasting tortillas.
Customer Review: ease & comfort Summary: 5 Stars
I gave this as a gift to a family member and I've already had several calls on how much fun and easy this was to use. It's being used several times a week to keep up with their tortilla habit. It's the perfect size for simple tortillas and easy to use for a person with rheumatoid arthritis.
