This unique and versatile piggy press works great. He is top quality cast iron and the perfect size to adequately cover bacon slices or anything you are cooking. Piggy press enables excellent results when cooking bacon, sausage, ham slices, and anything that tends to not lie flat in the pan. I also use it for foods that do lie flat because it helps food cook evenly and quickly. This bacon press causes heat to spread evenly to all portions of the food item and prevents food getting cooked more in the center of the pan and less on the edges (a common problem). He is so cute, a real collectible and kitchen exclusive, as well as so useful.

The cast iron bacon press flattens the bacon, keeping it's shape for even cooking and the wooden handle stays cool while the press is in use. To speed up the process, pre-heat the press.Those who like their bacon flat rather than curled, especially for making BLTs, will enjoy using this pig-shaped bacon press from Norpro. Made of heavy cast iron with a wooden knob-style handle, the press lays right on top of bacon during frying, and also works well on quesadillas, grilled cheese sandwiches or thickly filled panini, and pork chops that have a tendency to curl at the edges. Care should be taken when used on food in a nonstick skillet not to scratch the finish.
