Customer Review: Pretty Good Summary: 4 Stars
First you should be aware that there is only about 4" from the tip of an attachment to the motor housing so you are pretty limited to amount and container size. Splattering is a big issue - I have begun to drape a cloth napkin or tea towel over the hand I'm holding the mixer with to minimize the mess. The other day I tried mixing up a batch of dressing using silken tofu Mori-Nu Silken Lite Firm Tofu, 24 pack as the base and even though I pre-mashed the tofu first and added liquids this little mixer would not blend it the rest of the way. Also it will not scramble a raw egg with a bit of water. Okay those are the cons, on to the pros - it is quiet and handy and does a bang-up job on mixing powders into liquids. I believe it would also work for a mostly liquid dressing such as Italian. I nearly always use the miniature whisk attachment, rinse, and leave it installed because I think that taking it off and on every day would probably lead to it no longer staying in place. The attachments each have a tiny hole in the end that slides over a tiny pin in the motor housing. Works well but could wear out with frequent installs and uninstalls.
Customer Review: Quickly and easily does the job Summary: 4 Stars
I have been using this mixer several times a week for four months. Periodicly, poor contact between the two metal switch parts caused the mixer to spin with very low power or not work at all. I resolved this issue with the following modification:
-- slid off the battery case cover/switch
-- pryed up the lower (smaller) metal contact to about 40 degrees from the case
-- applied a small dab of super glue on the plastic case beneath the lower contact point (if you try this modification, follow your brand of superglue instructions and warnings)
-- using tweezers, placed a thin wood sliver (can be cut from thin end of wooden toothpick) on the glue between the case and lower metal contact
Now the mixer works as well as the day I received it. If it continues to work this way, new rating with the modification would be five stars.
