This is a nice little pan, but the aebleskiver (pronounced able-skewer) produced are really tiny. Be prepared to make a quantity double or more than the normal size.Customer Review: Was too small to fit on my stove even!

This pan is Small.
I have a gas range with heavy grates, and this pan was hard to get it to fit even, it kept falling through the grates till I could just get it right!(took some time)
It came with a very good recipe, but to me this was such a pain in the neck to make these, I just took out my big double Calphalon Griddle and made pancakes, which turned out great, and tasted the same as Aebleskivers
When I did make Aebleskivers and put the jam in the middle , it seemed to disapeared and I had a hole where the jam was!! I then used fresh apples, that worked out better, but I still like pancakes, allot easier to make.

I HAVE BEEN MAKEING AND EATIN AEBLESKIVERS FOR 40 YEARS SO I FIGURED I WOULD GET AN IRON FOR MY SON. WHEN THE PACKAGE ARRIVED I ALMOST DIED. THIS IS THE SMALLEST I HAVE EVER SEEN. DOES NOT DO THE JOB. GIVEIN, IT IS CAST IRON AND HAS THE POTS FOR THE CAKES BUT IS WAY TOO SMALL. THESE TAKE ALOT OF TIME TO MAKE AND PRODUCE SO YOU WANT YOUR IRON TO DO THE JOB FAST. TRUST ME IF YOU GET AN IRON THAT IS THE RIGHT SIZE AND NOT A MINI VERSION OF THE REAL DEAL YOU WILL BE MUCH HAPPIER. SPEND A LITTLE MORE AND GET THE ONE THAT IS 15" YOU'LL BE FINSIHED SOONER AND BE ABLE TO ENJOY THESE WITH YOUR FAMILY.Customer Review: It came covered in Rust!!!

Oh boy, was I disappointed in the way this came to me. I was excited to receive this product, because I had seen the Aebleskivers made on TV and wanted to try it myself. I knew this product would be on the small side, but that didn't matter.
I opened the box to find the bottom of the skillet covered in rust and part of the top. So disappointing! So, I had to go out of my way to figure out how to remove rust from a cash iron skillet. I was surprised that the company would have packed it the way they did.

I was looking for a simple cast iron aebelskiver pan, and was really looking forward to this one based on the picture. However pictures can be very deceiving. When I opened the package, I found a pan that was literally HALF the size of a normal aebelskiver pan. This is more for like making mini or appetizer sized aebelskivers. This also means it is next to impossible to make a decent stuffed one because they are so small.
Nonetheless, I decided to give it a try. I rinsed the pan with hot water and attempted to season it by heating it (I have used only stainless and cast iron for over 20 years, so I know how to season them). The pan instantly gave off noxious fumes and smoke - clearly there was some chemical coating on the cast iron. I have tried twice now, and was nearly gassed out of my home each time. It is now sitting outside my back door. Unlike other reviewers, mine has not rusted (yet). I am guessing they added some kind of coating to the pan to prevent rust that is causing the noxious fumes.
