I purchased this item for my mother for Christmas. It was something that she had requested, so of course she loved it. The quality seems very good, it is not made out of thin porcelain and it is larger than I expected looking at the picture. The candle underneath seemed to keep the gravy hot throughout Christmas dinner but don't expect it to warm up cool gravy.
The only negative I can think of is that it is a bit awkward to pass around the dinner table. Since it does have an open flame you might want to be concerned about young children or adults that have had too much eggnog. I would recommend that if you have a large dinner table to purchase more than one and keep it away from the edges of the table. Also don't pass around the gravy boat and stand.
