Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Norpro Silicone Pastry Mat with MeasuresCustomer Review: Great Product Summary: 4 Stars
This is a great product. The dough didnt stick to it when I was rolling it out. The only problems were that some of the ink came off on the dough, but it was harmless. Also, I did have to take it off the mat with a spatula, it didnt just peel off. The measurements were very helpful to rolling out the perfect size crust. And no mess on the counter! I would definitely recommend this product!
Customer Review: norpro pastry mat Summary: 4 Stars
Simple to use and much less expensive than other pastry mats although not as large as others. Perfect for pies and cookie dough since the mat has measurements. With nonstick surface, no need for much flour which makes dough moister. Easy to fold or roll and store. Would buy for friends and family.
Customer Review: Good for rolling but NOT for "slicing, dicing" Summary: 3 Stars
The product features state that this mat is "Ideal for rolling out dough, chopping, slicing and dicing."
PROS: For rolling out dough, it's fantastic. Doesn't slide around the counter, is lightweight and easy to roll up into a small tube. Unrolls without curling. Is large enough for a good-size pie crust. Measurements markings are clear and dark.
CONS: A bit hard to clean unless you lay it out on a flat surface. And do NOT try "chopping, slicing and dicing" unless you use a very dull knife. A sharp knife cuts right through it!
Customer Review: good if you aren't rolling or kneading dough on it Summary: 3 Stars
The mat is great for keeping counters clean. The drawback--kneading and rolling dough is hard because the dough sticks to the mat and the mat gets pulled off the counter. I've tried wetting the counter to make it a little more adhesive and flouring the mat but unless you're cutting out pie crusts or cookies (or doing something that's more stationary), the mat will move. I am a bit apprehensive about using sharp knives to cut dough because people have said it gets sliced up easily. It does roll and store easily because it's pliable.
Customer Review: stays flat on counter for rolling out Summary: 3 Stars
I ruined my first one I ordered. I used a knife on it to divide the dough when making crousants and cut it. Oops! Sticks well to the counter for rolling dough on. I liked it, but will need to find a utensil for cutting on it.
