I can't say enough about how handy these are. I love my cookie scoop. This one is very sturdy and can take heavy use. One of the benefits of making a batch of cookies with this is that they all come out the uniform size. Uniform size helps in baking evenly and also they just look better once they start out from the same size and shape. I have also used mine to scoop up peanut butter for chocolate covered peanut butter balls. Very handy. Pampered Chef sells a similar model that is more expensive, but it identical to this one.Customer Review: Good cookie dough scoop

This is my first "cookie dough scoop," and I will use it often. The handle fits well in my hand and the portion size is good for drop cookies. Although I have only used it once so far, it seems sturdy. I bought one for my parents, too, who have been making cookies for the 71 (yes, 71!!) years of their married lives. I knew there had to be a scoop made for serious cookie makers. This scoop withstands the thickest cookie dough imaginable. What astounded me was that the cookie dough released so easily. Squeeze after squeeze my amazement grew, the handle didn't break. Being made of stainless steel gives this scoop the stability needed to withstand pressure on the handle. I was very excited to receive my cookie scoop, but when it came in the mail and I opened it I felt disappointed because I was afraid it was too small. I wanted decent sized cookies not something mini, but the first time I made cookies they came out the perfect size (3-4 inches in diameter). I LOVE my cookie scoop and look forward to using it again and again!!! Very easy to use and to clean. I even used it for butter once.Customer Review: Sturdy Scooping

This was really worth the price. I've seen cheaper versions in various stores, either made of plastic or a less substantial stainless steel, but I'm glad I ordered the Norpro instead. I make a lot of cookies and this scoop size is perfect for a small cookie. The gear operates smoothly and easily releases dough from the scoop. Now I'm sorry I didn't order the kit that has three sizes of scoops.
